Shockingly Beautiful Library! This library has the most amenities of any I've visited - a quiet room, rows of computers in several places for adults and kids, various study and reading areas, expansive windows with serene views of the landscaping that wraps around the parameter, a shaded walking trail, and a large covered playground (even the swings)! Attention to detail is everywhere and it was a treat to explore it. After adding in friendly and knowledgeable staff, the Semmes Library had zero competition as my favorite!!! I found myself wanting to sit in peace and stare outside, daydreaming!
Libraries are the greatest assets to states, towns, cities and neighborhoods. The Julia Yates Semmes Library has wonderful aesthetic along with great seating areas. It has a wonderful open layout that allows for great natural reading light and full view of the layout. There's an outdoor garden/sitting area along with a covered playground for the children. Enjoy!
This is a very spacious and calm library. The selection is medium large for a library but the real benefit here is the atmosphere. It's my favorite library to bring a laptop and work. They are next door to a covered outdoor playground which is great for kids, and they're next door to a very large park with great hiking trails. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the restrooms are clean.

We only go here to vote but I have to admit I really love the interior and grounds of this library. It's always clean and neat and the indoor architecture is so interesting. They have spent some time and money on the outdoor area and it looks wonderful.
The Julia Yates Simms Library is rare. Please visit this gem tucked up to Comanche Park..a national treasure.
Update: go renew your Library card so that you'll upgrade to 5 year increments.
Julia Yates is a great library. Beautiful layout and a very friendly staff. I do wish they would get the outside patio area back opened.
I went to a eclipse conference and was really nice. The room was a little small to hold the meeting but otherwise everything was good. The people was kind and the atmosphere was calm.
